If you have been on the Nigerian Internet streets for a while then you have heard of “Smart Money Arese”. The name refers to entrepreneur and author, Arese Ugwu who is a financial guru and financial freedom advocate. In August 2016, Arese released the book, “The Smart Money Woman” and now she is gearing up for the release of the series.
The Smart Money Woman series is a 13 episode TV series starring Toni Tones, Lala Akindoju, Osas Ighodaro, Ini Dima-Okojie, and Ebenezer Eno in the lead roles. It also stars Gregory Ojefua, Eku Edewor, Toke Makinwa, Timini Egbuson, Eso Okolocha, Karibi Fubara, Tope Tedela, Seun Ajayi, Temisan Emmanuel, Chimela Azurunwa, Nonso Bassey, and others.
The series is directed by Bunmi Ajakaiye, produced by Utopia Media group and Lala Akindoju, and created by Arese Ugwu. It is slated to release on Africa Magic in September 2020.
The thought provoking 13 episode adaptation explores the relationships of African millennials to personal finance in contemporary Nigeria and how it affects the landscape of their dating and relationships.
